My Parents and My Future

    Good morning, everyone! It’s a great honor for me to stand here and give you a speech about “my parents and my future”.

    I still remember the period after the college entrance exam, during which my mom cried for several times for the result. I got, which she had never imagined to be that terrible. She didn’t want me to know, but I saw her crying. The tears turned to be diamond, shinning in my memory.

I can imagine the time when I was taught to walk. At that moment, my parents can control every of my steps, and they exactly knew which direction I will go. But now, since my steps have been larger and quicker, they can never do that. I don’t know if it has made them down, but what I know is they have thought of thousands of kinds of my future life. They plan and prepare for me.

It seems to be common that they sacrificed all their energy and time to make me more comfortable，and it is common too that they lay their hope of ideal future on me. We should remember forever that it’s parents’ youth and times that change for our growth. Every time I found more of their hair turned white，I will understand them more.    

Sometimes I just want to tell them to live and enjoy their life and leave me to my own. But at the same time I realize that, for me, there’s never a saying of “my own life”, because all my life is given by my parents.

Time flies！Now I am a college student and become an independent and brave girl. When I go out for a walk, breathing the free and fresh air, I always tell myself：all that I have now should be owed to my family, especially my parents. It is they who create my new life. And I know that grow –up is the best present to parents. I’ll be happy to have a future that they want.

They make me want to be a better person.

Usually, I change my decision in order to make them satisfied. I choose to live on, I choose to live happily, I choose to change myself, I choose to give up enjoyment and I choose to work hard, just because I don’t want to hurt their hearts any more; I don’t want the tears to drop for me again.
